A smaller size leather covered box with an intricate array of tack decoration. Its interior is further enhanced with decorative paper of an Arabian horse and an engraved portrait of John Vanbrough Size: 12 x 6 x 4.5 Excellent condition with all of its tacks intact. Nice pun eh? Mason Challenge grade decoy from Detroit, Michigan, c1910, with great form and mostly original paint. Some areas of touch up plus its neck putty has been enhanced.  A small quarter inch chip has been professionally restored on its tail which cannot be seen except under black light. Large 19th century overmantle portrait on panel. Attributed to Horace Bundy, Hardwick,Vermont, 1814-1883. Bundy, an untrained portrait painter, did portraits of many New England sitters as this example of a handsome young man portrays. Painted on panel and resting it a period lemon gold frame measuring 37 x 26 overall. Excellent condition. Inventory number 24-547.

A sculptural, second strike, bronze bust of Sitting Bull, c1940-50. It is shown sitting on a lignum vitae twisted base which is included in the price. Excellent condition with a fine color and patina. Signed Denise Perks Novickie. Size: 21 x 9 x 9 including the base. Inventory number 24-752.

Late 18th or very early 19th century, puddle cast tombstone shaped fireback. The detailed face of a man is cast in along with his initials LR. Unless there is information to identify this man, he will be forever unknown. The fireback was found in an early coastal home in Massachusetts and we were told it could have been that of a captain or master. Size: 19.5 x 14. Excellent as found condition. A pair of early 20th century decorative wood wall finials. Very nicely done, excellent condition with good color and surface. Each measures 31" T, 4.5" W. c1900. Inventory number 25-106.

A mid-century handmade clam basket with its original salmon paint. According to an impression stamped on one of its end boards, it was made for a 1/8th bushel capacity and is also signed and dated. It has survived well and remains in very good structural condition. Size: 11 x 9 x 10. Inventory number 25-193.

A well detailed Mid 20th century bronze rabbit on a black marble base. Though unsigned, it has great color and surface and remains in excellent condition. Inventory number 25-362.

A cast metal double sided Swisher Owl. Made by the Swisher and Soules Company, Decatur, Illinois, c1950. Completely intact with glass eyes which remain in perfect condition. Beautifully mounted on a modern wooden base which has a very complimentary rope border. It stands 14"tall on an 8" base. Inventory number 25-501.

19th Maine crooked knife. Incredibly carved having raised elements, relief and embossed stars, a heart and an ample amount of chip carving along its edges making it just that much more special. This is a pinnacle example of one of the finest knives we've had in a very long time. Size: 10 inches long. Inventory 23PD193.

Early 19th century, possibly Revolutionary War period, canteen in original red paint. Its original hand whittled cork remains, but two leather straps are long gone. One side shows a rectangular panel which we assume may have had the owners initials or possibly a date. It too has worn off. Otherwise in fine and stable condition. 19th century sailor-made rolling pin from Nantucket. Made from turned rosewood with shaped decorative ends. It measures 15 inches long and remains in fine original  condition with good color and patina. Inventory number 24-639.

A modern OOC rendition of a very famous Dutch painting by Dutch artist Paulus Potter. Potter specialized in animals within landscapes with his original work, "The Young Bull" being done on a grand lifesize scale measuring 7.8 feet wide and now located in the Mauritshuis in the Hague. This original painting was done in 1647. Excellent condition in a modern frame measuring 22 x 18. We feel this work portrays what we know of today as having folk art qualities even then. Maine crooked knife. Nicely carved with what I'll call an egg motif. Crooked knives were carving tools used by eastern woodlands tribes for various tasks from bowl making to shaving baskets splints. Wonderful condition. Wonderful color, form and patina. Size: 8 inches long. Ex: Jon Magoun

Skillfully carved and painted pantry box. An oxidized green painted 5 point relief carved star embellishes its cover with an oxidized crusty red surface covering its entire lower case. Inside the lid a relief carved date of 1885 can be found. Illegible initials remain on the bottom. Size: 7.25 inches in diameter, 3.5 inches deep. Inventory number 23PD524

Large, English or Dutch free blown dark green onion bottle. Nice early bottles such as this are becoming harder and harder to find, especially in this condition. An exceptional 4th of July Holiday arrangement by Doris Stauble, 1918-2007, Wiscasset, Maine. Doris became famous for making these arrangements which are now found in major collections coast to coast. We feel this one is quite special as it was made to honor and commemorate our country's 200th year of independence. Not only is it very patriotic colorwise, we love the eagle finial placed on top of the piece. Size: 17 x 15. Inventory number 24-930.

Intensely carved 19th century Scandinavian presentation smoothing board. Dated 1804 and further embellished with relief carved pinwheels not only on its face, but on its lollipop handle as well. Excellent overall condition with a rich warm color and patina. Size: 17 x 6. Inventory number 24PD406.

A densely carved and decorated 19th century baleen busk. The initials WS may be the initials of the carver or possibly by the carver as a gift to a special person with those initials. There are other marine motifs including a ship and an anchor, plus potted urns and numerous fill-in designs which cover its entire surface. Size: 12" long, 1.5" wide. AMERICAN SCHOOL MINIATURE WATERCOLOR PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL WEARING A HUGE PUFFY SLEEVE GREEN DRESS. She's accompanied by information identifying her, but written in a foreign hand which I cannot decipher. She is offered in a deeply molded, crusty black frame and dates about 1835. The unknown artist displays highly skilled and amazing detail which you will find desirable. Size: 12.25 x 10 overall.
